Chris Hogan and I will be going to Nayarit and Jalisco in October to establish the first villages as our partners. In Nayarit it will be El Venado, about 30 miles north of Tepic, in the hills.

In Jalisco we will focus on the villages of Cabo Corrientes, a rural area of ejido land south of Puerto Vallarta.
The result will be at least two “model” village examples of what can be accomplished with solar technology and related tools, providing reliable electricty to homes, sun ovens, solar water tanks, and bicycles for basic transporation needs.
We will also be videoing and photographing the towns so that we can build each village their own web site that we will promote to “drive” tourists to visit. Rural Mexico is fascinating and beautiful and more people should see it. Tourists dollars make a big difference in the lives of the villagers.
A bicycle donation drive is currently under way in San Diego, so if you have a bike that you no longer use, please give me a call or email. Otherwise, please consider a small monetary donation here http://www.onetownatatime.com/donate.html
Thanks,
Dave Simmonds
